Becoming a Driving Instructor

To become a driving instructor you will need:

  • A current Western Australian drivers licence
  • Minimum of 3 years experience driving the vehicle class you wish to teach
  • Complete a medical
  • Obtain a police clearance check
  • You will need to be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Pass a WA Department of Transport Theory and Practical Test
  • Instructor Training available with Will2Drive

  • Friction Point
  • System Of Vehicle Control
  • Hill Starts
  • Lane Changing
  • How to complete mock tests
  • We will cover all of the exercises for the PDA – Stop for Shopping – I’ve left something behind
  • Reverse Parallel Parking
  • Safe Places to pull over, leaving and returning to the kerb safely
  • All of the turn arounds required for the PDA
  • Sitting in on student lessons
  • How to document in student logbooks and learning programmes
